Core Audio 6.7 breaks Apple DVD player

After installing PTLE 6.7 (and updating to cs8), Apple's DVD player app freezes upon playing a DVD now. It seems it's butting heads with Core Audio. This happened to both myself and a client.

I'm not completely sure, but I think it happens when any other app is open...i.e. if I mount a DVD disc image with Toast, it automatically launches DVD player - so both Toast and DVD player are open and DVD player freezes, requiring a force quit.

DVD player seems "okay" when nothing else is open - but it definitely seems like a Core Audio issue.

Anyone else having this problem?

i've had the same problem recently. I just noticed it these past few days. However, i use 6.4. Anyone have any idea's on how to fix this?

in your system preferences / CD's & DVD's in OSX

change the preference to Ignore on all fields. or "ask What to do"

also, in your CoreAudio setup, you should un-register your DVD playing application with CoreAudio, if it causes problems.
