Default PTMP 8.0 and osx

Kinda sucks its not compatible with 10.4.anything. To go to 8.0, Ive got to upgrade EVERY SINGLE PLUGIN I own. Anyone else with me on this?

From which plugins are you talking about?

Digidesign implements a "check for updates" menu! So PT will inform you which of the plugins are out of date.

And going to Leopard doesn´t hurt - really!

And i haven´t heard that developers need to update there plugins for PT8 (as far as i know, but maybe i´m wrong)

No! Not needed! I installed Leopard over Tiger! You have that option during the upgrade process. Apple doesn´t recommended it, but for me, it worked like a charm! No new install of ProTools, or any plugins, just updates for plugins when updating PT from 7.1.1 (or something else, whatever...) to 7.4.2...

It's best to do an 'Archive and Install' this automatically moves existing system files to a folder named Previous System, then installs Mac OS X again. You can choose to preserve your user and network settings before installing. This option automatically moves existing users, Home directories, and network settings.
This should give you a more stable install of Leopard than upgrading but keep you data and apps.

It depends on your system you have. I didn´t mention any performance lags with my MacBook...
I have Digi, IKM, FXPansion...
they appeared in ProTools after Lep upgrade, of course some of them had to be updated to work "better" in Leopard. Updates always happen....
