few comments over on gear slutz on the newer models
i would of said the rack units are decent for monitoring but last time i came to use it one channel was buggered. oh well 3 still work, and i would rather a b than a samson

at the end of the day any thing that cheep is goona suck but if you need something to get the job done get it its not going to destroy you recorded signal.

I agree. Stay away from that crap. Why buy something you'll eventually regret ever purchasing?

What about this?

http://www.smproaudio.com/MPATCH2.htm

It's an all-passive, right?

I hope we are talking about the same subject...

I all i need is a volume between my MBox 1 and Event Tuned 8's, it would be nice to adjust volume, I guess it's quite usual in studios that volume can be adjusted somewhere else than in the mix window...??? Hehee, just kiddin'

Really, I don't need a lot of features, just a volume for maybe two sets of powered speakers, plus that it doesn't hassle/colour my MBoxs' signal.

Uhh, this is hard

mabey im mistaken as i only use mboxs with headphones, but doesnt the knob on the mbox effect the line outs? there is the mix knob aswell but i understand the frustration of that.

the Mpatch should be a good option, all passive and all reports ive read have been good. but thats just from what ive read, i havnt used one so dont take my word for it. do a search on gear slutz for some first hand reviews.

it's funny and a bit annoying! behringer's unit looklikes a pure (lowerpriced) copy of samson c-control!

If one set of powered speakers is enough, then I'd say this rocks:
