Default HDX1 & iMac Retina 5k anyone?

Hi,

I'm upgrading my 2012 Retina MBP to iMac 5k Retina next week.
I have a HDX1 system with Magma Expressbox 3T and BM Intensity for QT playback.
Does any of you have this combo? What software versions would you suggest?
The iMac comes with Yosemite and I'm looking to install PT HD 11.3.1 to it.

Also, I 've read reports about the iMac being very noisy when pushed hard, how bad is it? Surely it can't be as bad as on the MBP?

I appreciate all suggestions for do's and don'ts!

Hi I run HD Native 11.3.1 running on my iMac 5K. The Mac is loaded 4ghz processor updated graphics card and 32gb Ram. Internal 256 SSD.
It's silent pushed hard. I have not heard the fan....ever!
All I hear is my Omni fan.

Thanks for the info Mitchel!

I have pretty much the same configuration in the iMac so it should behave the same.

Do you have multiple displays connected? I'll be connecting a TB Display and a third generic DVI display for Insight. Do you think that might cause more heat in the machine that causes the fans running louder?

Thanks.

I only use the iMac screen as its so incredibly clear.

The fan may kick in with the extra two displays. However with the upgraded graphics card it may serve you well.
You will need an experts advice on this

Okay,
I'll start with the three displays and if things get noisy will keep unplugging them until quiet again. :)

Cheers!
