Assigning audio files to MIDI control pad?
Hey everyone,
I'm new to this producing/beat making community and need a little assistance. I had just purchased a AKAI MPD18 Compact MIDI Pad Control to use to make beats. I was wondering if there was a way to take an audio clip I chopped out of a song and assign it within Pro Tools to one of the pads on the MPD18? Does Pro Tools have that type of software? I already called AKAI and they told me they didn't know of any insert that would allow me to do something like that through Pro Tools. However they did mention Ableton had something called a "Drum Rack" that would allow assignment of audio files to a specific MIDI key/Pad. Does Pro Tools have something similar? I'm not looking to dish out the dough for Ableton if I can find a similar alternative through Pro Tools. Any suggestions? PLEASE HELP Cheers |
