Default Should I Be Afraid Of 8.03....

I've been sitting on my hands waiting to order a new computer for my LE set up (002+Eleven Rack)...
After much deliberation and more than a couple of posts on here (thanks to all) I decided to get a Mac.
I've been reading this forum for the last 2 weeks and getting a little scared of 8.03...all the new Macs come with SL so 8.03 would seem to be a must....argh!
I can pick up a Windows system pretty easily...Sweetwater has a nice creation Station i7 with a tweaked Vista that looks good but I really wanted to make the switch....bad timing with Snow Leopard arriving when it did.
I know they just released the cs to fix up the 11R but it still sounds...by all the other posts...that 8.03 is a little buggy...Bluetooth toggling I can live with but some of the others look more troublesome.
Should I be afraid :)
Or just dive in....
Thanks

Would it make sense to buy Leopard and install that so you can use older versions of PT? Or do the new macs require Snow Leopard OS? Can you even buy Leopard now?

I'm using Leopard and PT 8.0.3 right now and it works great. I've had a few issues with VI, but long story short those problems existed in the older PT versions, so I wouldn't worry about diving in.

I bought a full install Leopard disk family pack (for 5 machines) about 2 months ago for around $160. Do a google search ,they are out there. I'm still on Leopard, and am waiting a little longer till it's all ironed out.

Paul,
Have you experienced any problems with s/pdif or elastic audio with 8.0.3? Other users have been reporting issues with these and 8.0.3.

All the bugs and crashes I had on PT8.0 are literally gone with the 8.03 update.

You should not be afraid, but again my setup is different than yours.

Cheers
