Default CoreAudio & PT8

I understand that there is incompatibility between PT8 and CoreAudio. I was facing permanent hangups of CoreAudio since installing PT8 on the MacBook Pro. There were also random crashes etc. so I decided to uninstall PT8 from the computer and install it to the external volume. My initial setting was PT8 on the computer, and recording and other files on the external drive. As I reversed the settings, do the folx with more experience expect problems (sound files will go either on other external volume, or on the computer)?

Thx,

Bob
