Using MBox2 Pro without Pro Tools on Mac OS X 10.6
Is it possible to make a MBox2 Pro hardware unit initially bundled with Pro Tools LE 7 work on mac OS X 10.6 without installing/upgrading pro tools?
I was using the interface with other audio editing software in 10.4 and after upgrading to 10.6 my computer fails to recognize the unit (the LEDs are totally dark). I am not interested in upgrading protools for $300 or whatever, I just want to continue to use the box with other programs that I have since moved to. I installed the mbox2 pro drivers listed on the AVID site but still no dice. Is this even possible? Do I have to buy the pro tools upgrade/crossgrade to make my computer recognize the unit? Any help is appreciated. I did some searching through the forums and didn't see a definitive answer to this question. Thanks! |
