Default Installing 7.4.1

I'm getting ready to install 7.4.1 on Tiger on a G5 dual 2.5gHz.. I've made a bootable clone on a FW drive.

Do I need to uninstall 7.3 first? The manual is clear to uninstall on Windows, but doesn't mention anything about un-installing previous versions in the Mac install instructions.

Waiting for answer...tick tock...tick tock....

Mark

The latest you can install on Tiger is 7.4cs8
7.4.1 has been an early Leopard Version.
Of course you have to un-install 7.3 first.

Actually 7.4.1 is a Tiger release. 7.4.2 is the Leopard release....and both have their cs updates.

The link Digi sent me ended up at the Digi store PT Upgrade page, about the 5th item down....PT HD 7.4 for Tiger.

So bottom line is ....I have 7.4 for Tiger ....and it has it's own set of cs updates.

And don't tell me I'm wrong, or I shall taunt you a second time.

So the question remains....do I need to uninstall 7.3 before installing 7.4 on Tiger?

You don't have to uninstall 7.3 but you can if you want to as 7.4 is a complete install. its often best to uninstall previous versions and install fresh. as you have a backup of 7.3 you have all your stuff if you need to revert to anything.

But is there any reason to? Are there traces of bad juju left behind, or does the installer take care of that?

When it's up and runnng, I will blow out the 7.3 backup and replace it with 7.4 with the latest cs Update as I prepare for Leopard/7.4.2. Ultimately, I want to have Leopard on my main drive, and a clone of the most recent Tiger on a FW drive partition, along with a backup of whatever Leopard I'm running. Keeping Tiger close for plug-in reasons.
