AAE error -9173 stronger than ever on PT 12.7?!

Has anyone else been seeing their processors at 30-40%, and getting intermittent 100% spikes, that cause drop outs in pro tools 12.7?

It's driving me crazy! I'm not even running pro tools and it's spiking back n forth to 100%. Didn't start happening until this update!

I thought pro tools is supposed to be getting better, more stable NOT worse?!
I have top of the line macbook pro wtf? So much for all the hype on must have a mac?!!

You do know I have mine listed right here under system details?

I have infos from Avis Support that the 4core CPU (the microarchitecture) of iMacs and Mac Book Pros make this CPU Peaks more than all other copmputers.
Specially in combination with CPU intensive VIs and 3rd Party Plug Ins like Wave, IZoptope, ...
There is no Solution at the moment. I tried everything and finished my work with commiting and freezing all the time.

When you have this behaviour also with (only) AVID plugs, than it could be solved with adjustment in your system.
because not all of the the AAE -9173 errors are CPU dependent.

I'm having this exact same issue. Any solutions? everything worked fine in 12.6

Can just chime in. A LOT more playback related interruptions since going from 12.5.2 here.

My guess is that layered editing is too demanding for Pro Tools graphics engine and cripples the party..

I am on Pro Tools 12.7.1 and somedays I work all day with no problems and other days I get AAE-9173 and AAE-6101 errors all day long.
Hopefully Pro Tools 12.8 will fix these issues.

Note that an offline bounce works very well, every time, in a fraction of the time that it takes for an error prone realtime bounce.....

I just solved a boatload of -9173 errors by updating Eucon(worth a try if you have Eucon installed)

Hi everyone,
The 12.8 upgrade seems to have the fix for the -9173 problems.
I was in 12.4 with a lot of 9136 issues and cpu spikes. At this moment the workflow is perfect.

I'm in Yosemite and I didn't make a fresh install.

Also, the graphics performance are better!

Crap!! I'm on a quadcore intel i7, OSX being updated to Sierra from el Capitano and having PT updated to 12.7.

So I guess I'm in for trouble when I read this??
