Minimum dimensions for 5.0 or 5.1 room?
Can anyone recommend minimum dimensions for a 5.0 or 5.1 mixing room? Work would be for TV and online, ads, promos, documentary style programs ect. not dramatic mixes. Just want to make sure we don’t go too small and screw up the sound of the room.
Thanks

Re: Minimum dimensions for 5.0 or 5.1 room?
I would say for your proposed use, look at the average living room people watch television in. Take this size, add 0,2 to 1 meter (or more) everywhere for acoustic treatment or box-in-box building, AC etc. and you are on your way. Avoid acoustical no-no's such as a cubic size (lots of info on the net about good LxWxH sizes). And if you also would like to record in the room, a good starting point is having a ceiling height of at least 10 feet (3,3 meter excluding the treatment).
Greetings, Thierry
