Default Help I think my Digi002R may be about to die!!!

Can anyone help me with this please?

Recently my 002R has started behaving very strangely. Mid way through a session and without warning the Sample arte light will suddenly go out and then the system stops working. Sometimes I can get it back on my switching the 002r off and on again but sometimes iit just makes a clicking noise like it is trying to set the Sample Rate but no light comes on and Pro Tools will therefore not boot up.

Has anyone experienced anything like this before? I hope it is something in the set up and nothing more serious as I cannot really afford to replace the 002R.

I am using the 002r with a Mac Pro with one firewire port powering the Digi002r (rear port) and the other a Focusrite Liquid Mix (front port) if this helps.

Thanks
Grant

Could be the power harness issue.

Any Digi 002 or Digi 002 Rack that is rev G or later DOES NOT NEED any additional DC harness or power supply replacement. Check your revision.

You could also open the case and re-seat the harness. How old is the unit?

Sounds exactly like the power harness issue....

Reseating the power harness cable on the board usaully does the trick. Searching "power harness" should show up the instructions on doing so.

The unit is about 3 years old.

How easy is it to open up and reset the power harness?

Shoud I get a Digidesign Service Engineer to do this - if so does anyone know any in London?

I would contact Digi to see if they will send you a new harness.

I haven't been inside but from what others say, it's no problem to replace/re-seat the harness.
