Default which pci-express, 754 pin Nforce4 chipset? HELP!

i have to buy a new motherboard that is both PCI-E and contains a 754 pin socket suitable for the earlier single core athlon 64's.

would this board be compatible with PT's LE 6.7, 6.9 or 7.0 on a 002 Rack?

The Asus K8N4 Delux

digidesign recomends boards for 6.9 that are based on both the nforce 3 and nforce 4 chipsets, but there are only 2 or 3 examples and i need one with these specifics. thanks anyway.

did it occur to you that maybe there isn't an answer?

i have built systems using the A8N range of boards. they use the NF4 chipset and work fine which suggests that the K8N4 boards will be ok too but there is no guarantee.

why not upgrade to a S939 processor?

not enough cash and I already have a good processor (a 754 athlon 64 3000+). i would concider going up to 939, but with the 1200 pin chipsets just around the corner the upgrade would be valid only really for that processor and not for long term upgrading and so i'll be in the same position again.
