An in depth manual, not just the starter guide. Would really help a lot of people out there I'm sure.

Given the size of it, I'm glad they gave it to us in PDF format. Its easier to search thru that and I can print out the few pages I really need.

another reason to buy an iPad. I use to have a bookshelf of hundreds of manuals representing hundreds of dead trees. Now they are all at my finger tips for easy access

But what about the carbon dioxide released into the air from the coal plant that supplies electricity to the power grid from which you draw from to charge the ipad?

You could take the install DVD and have a manual printed and bound at OfficeMax or the service at Staples.

As most know, the manual is over 1,000 pages.

True, but after spending $7k on HD native i'd think one would be gift wrapped at my front door by now.

Unfortunately folks that spent $15,000 plus for Protools HD TDM plus get an Icon for $65,000 still don't get a printed manual. Check to see if it is cheaper to go to Kinkos or buy a toner cartridge and be done with it. Keep in mind that shortly after you print it, it will become obsolete when the next version of Protools comes out. I spent the time and toner to print the Reference manual several times since PT 5. I even bought nice binders to keep them and labeled them too. Each time I ended up recycling the paper before finishing reading it from start to finish. I guess I'm a slow reader of just don't have the time to read much.

That, is a brilliant idea. Putting all of one's user manuals on an iPad.
