Serious noise/distortion on record in M-Powered
Hi, I'm using a FW 1814 with M-powered, and an up-to-date version of the driver and PT software, on a g4 dual 1Ghz tower. I am experiencing a sound that starts up as soon as I enable record on a track. When it gets signal it immediately starts emitting a regular "dut-dut-dut-BURRT-dut-dut-dut-dut" and so on, which gets louder and softer depending on the input signal, and distorts the hell out of anything i'm trying to record. It's preventing me from getting anything done, huge bummer. It's definitely coming from Pro Tools, not the interface, because direct monitoring out of the 1814 sounds totally fine.
I've tried reinstalling PT. Any other suggestions or diagnoses? Please? Thanks! |

Re: Serious noise/distortion on record in M-Powered
Have you tried trashing preferences? What about a different firewire cable? Or testing from a new admin account?
Was this ever working properly and, if so, what changed between when it was working and when the problem occurred? |
