This isn't a bug. It's because being a phase linear processor, the plugin has to re-align the phase relationship of the audio, in near real time. There's a huge amount of computation going on within these plugs - that's why they have such high latency. It's quite a technical feat that they work in real time at all.

Of course because of this need to recalculate phase relationships, some aspects of these plugs are not suitable for automation, where clicks and pops will show up.

Default waves masters bundle

I downloaded the bundles demo and it is something I now need to own. But a qwick question, when using the linear eq theres a pop and a choppy feel to the plugin when changing its parameters, expecally after you realease whatever you just moved, like if i changed the gain on band 2 you wouldn't see the eq curve move untill after you let go of its parameter and when you do it results in a click too. Does anyone else have this problem and did waves ever fix this.

Beware that the linear eq is meant as a mastering plugin : it has a very large latency, not a problem when mastering but unsuitable for direct monitoring.

I see, won't be a problem since I don't use them on audio tracks or write automation to, but thanks for the explanation, itsa just annoying when your sweeping for a frequency when your using the eq.

The delay at 44.1K is as follows:

LinEQ - 2679 (broadband) / 2047 (lowband) samples. = 60.9 / 46.5 ms

Halve that for 96K

It's well worth the trouble, even on individual tracks. This is the clearest sounding EQ I ever heard. Using it on a 88.2K session is incredible. MUCH nicer, IMO, than the Oxford.

Too bad there is such a limitation on the center-frequencies. I sure hope Waves can improve upon that in the future.
