Side chain delay compensation fixed in PT HD 12 using Native card?
Hi there - can anyone confirm whether or not side chain delay compensation has been enabled and/or fixed or if there's a workaround for HD Native users on PT HD 12?
I've reached a dead end trying to get answers on this in PT 11. Seems that there's a workaround for non-HD (PT vanilla) users and for HDX users there's a preference that can be checked to compensate for side chain delay... but there hasn't been any luck for us HD Native users. Perhaps I'm in the minority, or users simply don't know that this bug exists.... Can anyone from Avid comment on this?? In this in the pipeline? Looks like this has been a bug since HD Native essentially has existed (several years) and still no word on a fix? This seems like a pretty big hiccup especially for people who mix and need side chaining to be tight and in sync (hence the whole reason for it....). It's most noticeable when you use high latency plugins (i.e. UAD)

Re: Side chain delay compensation fixed in PT HD 12 using Native card?
I have had all sorts of weird stuff with the side-chain delay compensation on HD|Native. AFAIK it's not working by design rather than a bug (as it's HD-X only), but if I do a complete re-start on my computer the side-chain delay seems to "fix" itself. And then at some point "breaks" again. It's so strange. But yes it's the same on PT12.

Re: Side chain delay compensation fixed in PT HD 12 using Native card?
Man, if that's true that's painful to hear. So I have to spend at least $10k to get a "feature" that any other competing DAW has at HUGE fractions of that cost?
To add insult to injury, in non-HD software, you can bus your side chain signal first to an Aux track, set that Aux output to your main monitor outputs (mute it), and then create a send from that Aux track to your final side chain destination and it will compensate. Not sure if this is an intentional workaround that Avid are aware of but I hear it works. Not in HD|Native though... What gives? No session compatibility between HD software versions??? This is so frustrating.
