Default RAM usage is over 1.3GB on a simple session...normal?

MEM USAGE: 1,279,544 K
isn't this a bit excessive?

this is the session:

running on a core2duo 6600
windows xp pro sp2 / protools 7.4
2gb of ram, running on a brand new Seagate Barracuda 205gb w/ 32mb cache
session is on a separate drive - a samsung 160gb, 7200rpm standard

i've done reinstallations and reformatted. i don't know what's up here.

Well you have 3 amplitube's running. That's why.

When using guitar emulation plugs, the way to use them is to add the plug-in to an aux track, with the input set to your guitar line in, then set the output to an available buss and record the affected guitar track to a new audio track, and keep repeating this for how many guitars you need, only using ONE instance of amplitube.

Guitar emulators use a lot of system resources, so only use ONE per session.

And you also have 3 Dverbs running as inserts. Do you know how to set up SENDS for reverb (and other FX by the way), rather than using as an insert on the actual track? This is probably not the case for your RAM, as it's normal to have 3 Dverbs running as sends, but start using sends instead for your FX.
