If it loads, yes it very likely will see all cores. But the real question is will Protools run on the motherboard's chipset.

Good point? The reason I ask is because I am thinking of buying the new 8 core Mac and running Windows XP on it. I then want to run PT LE 7.4 003...Do you think this will run?

i was contemplating switching to a mac just recently, and was looking at those 8-core mac pros. they come stock with leopard, and digi will be supporting it soon enough. if you have that kind of dough for a new box i would say go for it. im sure once all the compatibility issues are good, it'll be a screamin computer. let us know here how it runs when/if you get it.

Say, good luck with them 8-core Macs. We'll let you know how the 16-core PC's are doing long before your 8-core Macs work with Protools.

In case you think I'm typing out my ass, I had my quad PC working 6 months after Mac announced the quad G5, 4 months before the quad G5 shipped, and Digi never supported the quad G5. Good luck getting an 8-core Mac to run Protools on XP.

Oh Jesus, you weren't thinking of running it on Vista were you...

Fer gawd's sake just get an Intel Q6600 box for under $1k, by the time you find a way to use half of that, we'll have worked out another $1k box that'll do 10x as much...

[for the record I'm drunk, bored, and pissed off, thanks to my quad biting the dust, but this is all true]
