Default ProjectMix faders do not always respond on open and close

The following problem happened when I tried to update the firmware and drivers for my PojectMix I/O:

When I open a project in pro tools some of the faders will move to the correct position. Then some of them will stay at zero even though PT has them at a different value. If I tweak the fader in the project with my mouse, the control surface will suddenly respond and pop up to the right value. Also, on shutdown not all of the faders return to zero.

Any ideas? Please help!

This is known bug for the Projmix and the Firewire drivers AFTER 1.7.4
If you revert back to this driver then you will be okay...

if you need some of the bug fixes from later driver releases, then you
will have to live with this fader position problem.. I have found it only
happens on start up and closing and it goes away when I start using the track
for something.

its a bummer that M-Audio has not addressed it yet..
there are several existing threads on the DUC regarding this problem
all the best,
Edgar

Edgar,
You were absolutely right. Thanks a lot for the info. I mean what was I thinking assuming that the latest driver version would be better than the previous!?? Maybe I'll try reverting back to v0.0.1 beta. It's probably the best!

Sorry to bring back such an old thread, but did this issue ever get resolved properly?

Im running the latest M-Powered (7.4.2) on Leopard, with the latest M-Audio firewire drivers (1.8.4-3).. And i still get crazy things happeing with the faders, and display screen when i open and close sessions.

I did a search, but cant find any posts this year relating to the problem?

Many thanks.

Will

I too have this problem and find it annoying that it doesn't 'clean up' after itself.
I hopelessly tried using it as a controller in LE with my Mbox and it still has all the
funky fader stuff going on. I hope they decide to address this,or worse yet I hope
they aren't purposely ignoring it in favor of developing a new product.

If it worked before then they should be able to fix it.....
