-9073 error
I have received the DAE error (-9073) in the past when editing many (20+) tracks with a lot of time-based plug-ins running. But now I am getting this error in another way:
Problem: I am recording one stereo track. When I get to 5 minutes and 9 seconds, the system chokes up and stops recording. I then get the error: "DAE can't get audio from the hte drive(s) fast enough. Your drive may be too slow or fragmented, or a firewire drive could be having trouble due to the extra firewire bandwidth or CPU load. (-9073). This happens every time. I am running the following setup: G4 laptop (1.33 GHz PowerPC G4) 1.25 GB DDR SDRAM Digidesign 002 R PT 7.0 I recorded several hours of individual stereo tracks in this session without a problem. Something has changed, but I don't know what. I have my DAE Buffer Maxed, samples to 2048, Playback engine to LEVEL 8 I have no screen savers on, no sleep mode, no plug-ins running. No other software running. I have dumped my preferences, zapped my p-ram, ran TechTool Pro. Still no help. Please help! |

Re: -9073 error
Some details about your drive setup would be helpful.

Re: -9073 error
Tech Tool Pro. From Digi:
-9073, -9155, or -7011 errors during a bounce to disk In one case Tech Tool Pro v4.1.2 had been installed but uninstalling Tech Tool Pro did not help. Erasing the hard drive and performing a clean install of the operating system was required to resolve the issue. It was determined that the installation of Tech Tool Pro v4.1.2 was the culprit because after the user reinitialized the hard drive, he installed TTP again and the errors resumed. Thus, the user should reinitialize the hard drive and NOT install TTP.

Re: -9073 error
Thank you for the reply.
I have a couple of further questions. This error does not occur during bounce to disk. It occurs only when I am recording. I don't know if that matters. This error is generally a playback of bounce to disk issue from what I've read. I have had TechToolPro 4.1.1 on this computer for at least 9 months without a problem. In the case you mentioned, did the problem occur immediately after they installed it, or did the problem just appear out of the blue as in my case? |

Re: -9073 error
I don't know about the Digi experience. Seemed that the problem happed right away when it was installed
Don't know how Tech Tool effects disk drives. It may be a problem. Bounce to disk is recording, after all. Could it be that your drive is getting full?

Re: -9073 error
It is getting close to full. 10 GB free. Does that affect it? In the past I have recorded straight up the end of the available drive space.

Re: -9073 error
I will do some transferring to free up space and see if that helps. Thank you for your help.
