Default showing faders/mixer in edit view

Does anyone know how to display part of the mixer in edit view like in the picture add for the digi 003? In the add it showed the edit window open with a row of faders at the bottom. If this is possible it would be very convenient.
(I have tried resizing the mix window and putting it at the bottom of the edit window, and I know that you can bring up the standalone fader for individual tracks. I am looking for solutions other than these.) Thanks
