Pro Tools 11 for filmscoring. Any hope?
Love PT, does pretty much all I want for audio editing, mixing and sound design.
At the edge however when it comes to using it for filmscoring. Great up to a point when tracknavigation becomes an issue at least for me. I know this has to be pure speculation, but any hints that avid are serious about making PT 11 an insanely great compositional tool for filmscoring with (to start with) smart navigation for hundreds of tracks and some form of hierarchical, folder based track nesting. Wouldn't that be fab. Yes, I have voted on idea scale for those kinda things, but some sort of affirmation (or not) that PT 11 will take a largish leap for composing would be timely. I am meanwhile relearning Logic and Cubase and checking out the competition and it hurts a bit in this regard The fact that there is no filmscore-oriented sub forum here also says something for me. Ah well, One can dream, right ? |
