Pro Tools 7.31 on Mac Mini
Pro Tools 7.31 is crawling on my Mac Mini 1.42 gigahertz. Every previous version was fine. I've only got 512 ram so if I upgrade this will it be enough or is it time for a new Mac? I only need about 8 to 16 tracks

Re: Pro Tools 7.31 on Mac Mini
I did notice a performance hit when I upgraded to 7.3. Large sessions that played OK on 7.1 choked on 7.3 so that version does seem more CPU intensive.
As you're below the recommended minimum, extra RAM is a good idea. If you've got a spare slot, dropping-in another 512K stick shouldn't cost the earth. http://www.myspace.com/philogg |

Re: Pro Tools 7.31 on Mac Mini
Just drop another 1 gig stick in it, I got one from Best Buy for $40 and the Machine runs great
Mac Mini 1.83 duo core 1.2 gig ram, It had 2 - 256 mb of ram instead of one 512 stick, I'll tell you that it is a pain to get the cover off if you've never done it yet, after that it's fairly simple.

Thanks for the replies.
