Minimoog V CPU problem PT9
I've been having issues with running Arturia's Minimoog V in Pro Tools 9 for a while. It used to be fine with an older configuration but now I'm having this problem : Whenever I load a few tracks with this plugin, the CPU usage gets to around 100% and nothing works. This is DEFINITELY not due to the fact I'm using too many plugins as I can use way more demanding plugins without any problem besides the fact that it uses a load of resources.
It's not due to anything that is widely known (such as recording on an external drive, wi-fi, background programs running etc.) I've tried everything. This is a much more complicated problem. Is there any known incompatiblity? I've tried rolling back to older versions of PT 9 (which worked fine before) and the same problem occurs. It might be due to driver updates but I'd like to know what other people think. I'm gonna do every test possible but it's gonna be REALLY time consuming so I'd appreciate it if anyone knew something about this! The next thing I'm going to try is running it with a fresh install without any updated driver nor SP1 installed, but this is crazy! Re: Minimoog V CPU problem PT9
Perhaps running Minimoog V as a VSTi in a ReWire Client will work as an interim.

Re: Minimoog V CPU problem PT9
Did the older configuration included the i7 720? Some plugs simply run better using 4 or less processors in PT.

Re: Minimoog V CPU problem PT9
Yeah I've tried all of that. The conclusion is pretty [bleep][bleep][bleep][bleep]ed up! The only problem was dust in the vent area of the laptop. It's crazy... everything is running fine now! I still find it weird that it's the only plugin that caused such problems... but oh well everything is working (almost, it's still Pro Tools, a time bomb)!
