Default playing windows sounds thru digi002

I disabled my regular sound card,
and noticed there was a thread somewhere
about using your digi002 as the sound card
to play windows sounds, as a wave sounds driver.

How do I do this?
Do I need to have protools running?
I'm also using digital speakers, does that matter?
