Default HD Native and PCIe card for Magma PE6R4i at the same time

I'm thinking about adding a Magma PE6R4i with an HD6 PCI-X Cards for a mobile rig, but wanted to know if I can have the Magma PCIe Card installed on the same MacPro where I have my HD Native Card at the same time.

I would install OSX on two separate bootable partitions, one with PTHD 10 and the other with PTHD11. This way I can go back and forth between HD Native and HD TDM, but don't know if having both cards will cause an issue.

Thoughts?

Nope.

Not when I tried it a few years ago at least. Can't remember the details, but I do remember needing to remove the Native card each time I wanted to change over.

Yeah, I tried that a while back, and ProTools refuses to see the Native card if the HDX or Accel card is also in the system.

However, you may have stumbled upon a WAY better way to deal with it... Simply unplug the cable going to the Magma box, and the system will see the Native card. Plug in the cable, and the system will see the DSP cards.

Much less hassle than pulling apart the tower and swapping cards all the time!

Let us know if this works!

My setup included the chassis.
