RAID controller usage?
I have added a PCI RAID controller for 2 more primary IDE slots (4 total if run slave/master). Now from what I can tell in the forum you should have any RAID controllers disabled due to hardware problems and HW buffer problems in PT LE. Can anyone explain this better? should i get rid of this RAID card or not? I would hate to have to slave my DVD-RW off of my audio HDD or my system HDD. any suggestions? thanks!
(PS, system drive is master from motherboard IDE slot 1, DVD-RW is master from motherboard IDE slot 2, 160GB audio drive is master from PCI IDE slot 1). is this bad?

You could probably leave the card in your system, but dont enable RAID on them. They usually can also work as normal IDE-controllers. Some people here have some sort of RAID operational on their system, but it is not supported by Digidesign, and i have read a few horrorstories here that where solved by disabling RAID.....

cool, i just have it set up as more IDE slots so i dont have to have 2 drives that i would use at the same time slaved. I used to get burning problems on my DVD-RW before when it was slaved.
