New tower problem

Ok guys I got an antec tower with my best buy gift certificate and put all my innards in it and it works great except for 1 thing.
I cant connect both monitors to it cause the metal on the back of the tower is in the way.I got 1 monitor hooked up but because of the design of the tower I cant connect my 2nd monitor.I have an old pci video card laying around. Could I put the 2nd vid card in and get dual monitors?
I want to get a reply before I unhook everything AGAIN!!

Is your display adaptor on the mobo or AGP ?
If AGP, just twist the metal piece off that covering the back. Otherwise just cut a hole in the case to access the 2nd connector.
At least that's how I would do it..

You should be able to easily tear off the metal piece along the crease.
Cases are made this way.

ok I bent it out and got the other monitor hooked up.
Now I cant get dual monitors.Its an nvidia fx 5500.I downloaded the latest nvidia and its working but Its the same desktop on both (clone mode)
I havent tried the dual monitor option on this card and am baffled?

If you right click on the desktop, properties, you should see the following.

Hmmm. I run dual monitors here at work, at home on my 9800 Pro , and in the studio on my Matrox p650.

Shoudl be very straightforward.

DO NOT USE THE PCI WITH PROTOOLS....will cause you headaches from my personal experience.

its actually pretty simple.

if you go into desktop properties, in the settings tab i believe, you should be able t configure what each monitor displays. you can even tell windows where each monitor is realtive to the other so your setup is more natural. i have one monitor above another so i set mine up so when my pointer leaves the top of the lower monitor it comes out the bottom of the upper one.

Yeah big bubba thats what I used to see with my old dual card.Anyways the stupid pci works with my nicer 128 mb agp card for now.Havent open a protools session yet but at least I have dually;s again!
Got a 17 inch at the local salvation army for 25.00.Its not a flat screen but man that was cheap.Its a del by the way.They had about 7 monitors there. I went for the best brand name. Poor mans dually's!
