Default PT on a network

So my smarthome wiring is now finished (complete with ethernet to my live room in the back shed).... with all the audio drives on the computer out in the studio is there any pros/cons/do's/don'ts regarding accessing them directly from my study in the house for editing/mixing etc without copying the whole project from one computer to another??

You can access the client computer via Remote Desktop,
if this is what you looking for,but in terms of file
Handling only the Video Files can reside on
a Network Volume designated as T in the workspace browser/window,but not the Audio Files,
which they need a third party solution in order to be accesed non local

AFAIK Pro Tools can't have a session on a network drive.

If I remember correctly, network mapped drives will show up in workspace, but they are set as "T" (transfer volumes) only.

However, you can access the session on your network, copy it across to the local machine, *then* open it no problem. I used to do this all the time at a studio I used to work at. Someone would come in to record, the recording engineer would do the session in studio A, then I would copy the session across the network and edit from my desk.
