Default Just upgraded to 9.0.1... constant 6085 errors

Bought the 9.0.1 crossgrade on Friday. Installed it and launched a simple session, but didn't really have any more time to use it until today.

Nothing plays for more than 20 or 30 seconds without stopping saying to lower the buffer.... but it was set at 128.

So realizing there could be issues using the updater, I downloaded the full installer, updated my acronis image, and re-installed Win7x64 clean. Installed the latest drivers for the Avid Mbox, Installed Pro Tools 9, and still the same problem.

So this is a clean install, no third party plugins. But I can't get anything close to reliable playback! I've tried every buffer size, every possible # of CPUs, followed all the system optimizations.

I searched the DUC and found a bunch of people having the same error, but with different circumstances.

Attached is a Sandra Report. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Note: Theres a partition in there that is off the system drive - it's for storing spare files. It's currently unformatted. I'm recording/playing back from the secondary internal.

Default Re: Just upgraded to 9.0.1... constant 6085 errors

For the record - this same machine worked rather well with 8.0.4.

The only devices connected to the machine are: mouse, keyboard, display, Mbox, iLok. I disable the ethernet adapter in device manager before I launch PT.

Most of the other 6085 related threads I found that had resolutions were related to the chain order of FW devices. Since I don't use any FW stuff, I disabled the adapter built onto my board.

I tried opening old sessions, making new ones and importing old sessions, and making a new session and just dropping stem tracks on the timeline. 8-10 stereo tracks, but PT can't reliably play anything.

As I just bought the crossgrade on Friday, I got version 9.0.1. Is it possible to get a copy of 9.0?

Default Re: Just upgraded to 9.0.1... constant 6085 errors

Here's today's update:

I got up this morning and wiped the system drive again, reinstalled w7x64 again... system drivers (video, nic, chipset) mbox drivers, & pt 9.0.1. now i get a dialog that pops up over the splash screen that says "the asio device cannot be initialized..." but there's no drop down menu. it just has the mbox listed.

tried to call avid support to cash in my comp ASC code, but it's a holiday and they are off.
