Default Having .mxf files instead of .wav in session

Hi folks,

Just imported the AAF from the editor (Avid Media Composer software) and all looks in place, not missing audio files.

However, the files in session are .MXF and not .WAV ... why is that? I've done the "Import session data" and tried both 'Copy from source media' and 'Link (where possible)' and the same results.

Am I doing something wrong? How can I have the .wav instead of the .mxf files? Is it because the files are named very differently from the original sound rushes so it won't link that .mxf file to the correspondent .wav file?

Find picture attached.

Thanks!

There's no picture attached. I don't think one can post pictures until one has a certain amount of posts but not sure on that.

in the "Import Session Data" dialog, choose "Force to target session format" under "Media Options". this will convert all imported media to WAV (assuming your session file type is set to WAV). see attached screen shot.

YES! now they're all .wav and can fully trim them and metadata is good.

Thanks a lot!
