ICON Jog Wheel and \"Transport=Machine\"
We're considering changing the behavior of the ICON jog wheel in "Transport=Machine" only. The current behavior is -
- Hitting scrub or shuttle buttons will silently tell PT to either scrub or shuttle the machine when you move the wheel. There is no "off" choice. - Moving the wheel will scrub or shuttle the machine - The LEDs on the scrub and shuttle buttons will light when the machine is actually scrubbing or shuttling. The proposed change (for "Transport=Machine" only) is - - Hitting scrub or shuttle will tell PT which scrub mode to use for the machine. Hitting the button that's lit puts it back to "off" mode. - The current scrub mode is displayed on the LEDs, so it appears just like transport=protools. So you don't get the behavior of the buttons going on when you actually scrub or shuttle. - This gives you an "off" mode, which seems more desirable, and it shows you what mode you're in all the time. I'm polling because I need to find out if changing this will drive a significant portion of our customers nuts (or more nuts <g>). We do know the current behavior makes some customers unhappy, but we've got to be very careful when entertaining changes like this - therefore, this poll! (no promises on when this might happen - I just need the info). Thanks! Danny Caccavo Product Manager Digidesign |
