Default PT8 w/ Plug-Ins: Best Version to Upgrade to?

I upgraded my Macs to the latest OS X Mountain Lion, but my Pro Tools has become incompatible - version 8 LE.

Since I want to retain as much functionality as I can with the plug-ins and projects I was used to, which upgrade - 9, 10 or 11 - can you honestly recommend now that I'm on Mountain Lion?

Thank you.

You can only purchase upgrades from Avid to Pro Tools 11, which also includes a Pro Tools 10 license. Just do that any you get the combination of RTAS legacy support in 10 and 64 bit capability in 11. Installable on the same system if you want to.

You will love PT11 (as soon as most 3rd party plugins are available)

Also, your sessions done on earlier versions can be opened in PT10.

What Mac are you using?

Just want to confirm that if I upgrade to PT11, I can install it on both machines without having to pay twice, is that correct?

Yes. Since it's Ilok based, you can install on a zillion computers, but can only use one at a time (whichever one the Ilok is plugged into).

Thanks, I got this iLok off Amazon. So next step is I will buy PT11 from Avid -- it comes as a download? Then how do I get it onto the iLok?

Pro Tools installs on your system drive like your 8 did.
When you buy Pro Tools you will be asked for your ilok account.
The license will be deposited in your account.
Then you transfer the licence from your account to the iLok.
