Default DAE Problem...

i'm getting the dreaded "DAE can't get audio from hard drive fast enough, hard drive may be fragmented, there may be a problem with the firewire...etc" problem...

I'm using a Zed R16 going directly into PT9 on my Macbook Pro (via firewire) and recording to the 2nd internal HD i have dedicated to audio which spins at 7'200rpm. My main drive is an SSD.

Yesterday while recording 10 tracks of drums all was fine then an hour or so later i added a bass and two guitars (band practice) and i'd start to get this problem after about 30 seconds of recording. After a while i copied the session to the main drive just to try and all went well.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Grant

Have you gone through all the OSX optimizations? Maybe spotlight has something to do with it. Just a guess. I've never had that issue. Is the disk really filled up?

there's not that much on the disc itself, i've turned spotlight off on that partition and will try recording the whole band again in a couple of days. we'll see...thanks.
