Loud tone
This morning I opened PT 12.5.2 to find my i/o settings had mysteriously changed. Went through hoops trying to figure it out and finally completely re-booted the computer. Everything went back to normal EXCEPT that when I hit Record, there's an extremely loud tone coming through the computer speakers. I can Mute it, and still record and edit, just don't know where that loud tone is coming from?

Re: Loud tone
Your routing is probably messed up. Open Setup>Hardware and make sure your interface is the selected "audio engine", then go to Setup>IO and make sure things are correct there(or default everything) and re-check routing in the session(s) that gives the "loud tone"(which is probably feedback)
