Default Creating Space In Instrumental/ Vocals Sit On Instrumental

I cant seem to find out how to get my vocals to sit within the beat. I know you have to use EQ to get it done, but which EQ do you use 7 band, 4 band, i mean how do I go about doing it with the EQ, I know everything depend on Frequencies, and all but how do I get to that step with the EQ. And are there any certain EQ's I should try to download to get this done, I'm working w/ the EQ's that came with Pro-Tools 8 currently.

well with out somone really looking at it's hard to tell. but think beyond the vocals and try to see what other tracks are on the same freq as the vocals and put them on a different one using eq. think both backwards and forward huh. also you can try equing all your tracks that way you know what freq everything is on. also make sure you have your busses and aux set up correct. that's my 2 cent. :)
