Default Recording internet radio?

There's some great sounding (excuse the pun) 'best of 2004' radio progs coming up, and I'd like to listen to them at times other than those they're broadcast at.

At the moment I listen to XFM, my favorite, using WMP, but that doesn't allow for recording streaming media to hard disk.

Anyone know of a suitable application? Bear in mind the resultant files will be HUGE (several hours of mp3).

I don't have PT and the internet installed on the same machines here.

Hope you're all having a good time.

on the other pc, installa program to record into MP3. Run a cable from the one pc to the other....problem solved.

If you have another card in your system with ptle, uyou could make a loop on the same pc

say you have some soundblaster and your digi001
install the wave-driver to playback the radio through wmp
take a cable and connect the output of the 001 to the input of the soundblaster. make sure its program uses its designated soundcard, and you;re set to go.

If you use a soundblaster-card you could simply record the "what you hear" input.

Do it analog using the audio-only function of a VHS-recorder in longplay mode. Quality is very much OK, and with a bit of luck you can record over 8 hours in one go.

for a special christmas music only network with all the oddballs of christamssongs....

click this link -> www.3voor12.nl
on the top-menu-bar choose "webradio"
choose realplayer or wmp next to "3VOOR12 Kerstkanaal"
quality is around 100 kb/s wich is more then enough for some listening

You're a clever chap aren't you?

In fact I can do it all in the living room using the VHS and radio there (thought the quality wouldn't be as good, but good enough (XFM isn't on my digital TV box yet ) and all I need is to record a heads up for good music to buy that I'll have missed over the year). And I could use the VHS timer to record while I'm out.

Not a bad idea for the rest of the year - the best radio progs are on late at night.

Actually, that tempts me to go and get a cheap January sale VHS with PCM sound for right here and record the better quality off the internet. I do need a quality VHS here.

Still, the ideal would be an app that does it all 'in the box'.

Rail, you fancy writing one?

3VOOR12 Kerstkanaal - Edith Piaf right now. Hmm...

Hey, I like that it gives you the album title and track!

I would think it would be easier than this. Depends on your audio card of course of your internet computer. Some are coming with lightpipe connections. Connect the internet computer audio card to the 001 or 002 and you are recording. If it is lightpipe it is even better since you avoid a conversion step.
Good luck either way.

Yep that works too and avoids using up your PTLE hard drive space.
I also think there are XFM players that will record now. I'd keep looking since this would be so much easier.
