If you do not need to import AAFs, then v10.3.8 should be fine. I have the need to work with AAFs, plus I err on the side of conservative for these situations. That is why I recommended v10.3.7.

Arrow Re: input monitor / record issue

I don't know enough about reading crash logs to say what is causing Pro Tools to crash. All I can tell is that it is Pro Tools that is crashing.

While that may seem obvious, there are times when another process can cause Pro Tools to crash.

If you want to use v10.3.8, do a clean uninstall of v10.3.7 first.

It's my understanding that the only reason to use .7 over .8 is the AAF bug, but with .8 you gain other fixes which aren't present in .7.

Considering many (if not most) don't touch AAF import, I think it's crucial to point that out before categorically suggesting .7 as they'd be missing out on the other .8 fixes and gaining nothing in return -- a net loss for them.

That's just a screen name. You can pick anything. I was "Napoleon Bonaparte" when I first joined the forum but I wouldn't recommend taking my French classes.

I then tried "Upstanding Citizen" but still had to pass through security at the airport.

I'm thinking about trying out "Einstein's Son."

My grandmother traced our roots directly through the Duke of Wellington, so not French, and definitely not related to Napoleon, other than... well... ya know, Waterloo.

I'm glad 10.3.8 is finally working well for you.

Default a new tip

Read my post about certain weirdness today between HD 10.3.8 and ilok license manager.
Everything fine now, but could not start Pro tools without quiting.
I had to update ilok stuff to 4.6.
