Your Volume Auto Playlist has been deactivated. That's why it's greyed out and italicized.

Command Click on it to reactivate.

As suspected, looks like automation is suspended (auto read and volume in the track sidebar are in italics).

best,

This is fixed! Thank you both so much!

My first experience in the Avid Pro Audio Community a great success! Thank You!

I've been fighting through issues on my own with web searches for 2 years, and I tried diligently with this one too. Now that I see the issue, it is simple. I guess everything is simple if you know what to do.

I have another nasty problem I've searched diligently on, and talked to the 3rd party provider on (Celemony Melodyne) with no luck. If you think you can help, please see:

http://duc.avid.com/showthread.php?t=338759

Again, MANY THANKS!!!

Hi Drew! I'm positive this is a stupid question but when I Command click the volume or read buttons it only allows me to to change the automation to touch, off, latch, write, and trim but not actually reactivated? When i search help for activating automation it takes me to the edit>automation but the only thing it allows me to do is write/trim/glide automation but nothing as far as reactivating the volume playlist or automation. I don't know what else to do. Please help!!!

That's the wrong place to click. You want to command click on the name of the automation playlist once it's shown.

On each track, you can look at Waveforms, Volume auto, Mute auto, etc.. the automation needs to be showing here first, then command click.

Hope this makes sense.

I just had the same problem. Here is the solution that worked for me.

Under the WINDOW tab, click on AUTOMATION. Make sure that NOTHING is highlighted in red. I suspect that your SUSPEND is highlighted, which will cause nothing to happen when you control click on VOLUME.

Deselect SUSPEND, then deselect any of the other options that may show up as highlighted after you deselect SUSPEND.

Now you should be able to command click on VOLUME to toggle your automation on and off.

I hope this helps.
