Urgent! Automatic punch-in/punch-out for Mbox 7.0
Dear Users:
For the life of me I can't remember how to create an automatic punch-in whilst recording. I know that there is some way in which I can enable record thoughout various section in a song without having to do a quick punch. Btw, this particular function once enabled allow to see the letter (p) which indicates where the punches are. But as I stated before, I can't remember. Therefore, I would greatly appreciate it if someone would be so kind as to refresh my lame memory. Thanks in advance 6x |

Thanks for coming to the rescue, however, I'm not sure if that's the answer I'm looking for. I'm familiar with highlighting a section, however, can you set multiple highlight thoughout the song, because I attempted to do that however, it wouldn't allow it. Thanks again and I look forward to your reply. Tymeless |

Re: Urgent! Automatic punch-in/punch-out for Mbox 7.0
ahhh, I see. You would want (for example) to punch the 1st, 3rd, and 4th line of the verse, but leave the 2nd alone? Which would require you to have multiple edit selections at the same time. I don't believe you can do this. I don't think PT allows you to have more than one timeline selection at once. That would be nice. Someone correct me if I'm wrong!

Get a footswitch and make it trigger the quickpunch whilst you're playing.
I'm pretty sure you can do this, no? |

You could always do them individually.
Another option --if you simply must do them all in a single take-- is to simply create a new track and record them on the new track. Then either create a playlist within a single track or leave them in the new track and crossfade between tracks. |

yes, you're correct. you can punch in and out mulitple times without stopping but what we're wondering about is setting up the program to punch for you in multiple areas.
this would allow me to highlight the areas I wanted to punch on the vocal tracks during playback, then just hit record. Of course I would have pre roll setup already.

From there you have many options once the new vocal lines on the new track have been recorded. You could comp them with takes from the first track in a playlist. You could crossfade between tracks. You could bus both tracks to an audio track or an aux track and automate the send level. As far as highlighting more than one area on the same track, that can't be done. |
