Default How do I keep the RTAS files in the plugins folder when updating?

When you install PT updates, or full installers, all the RTAS files go away, is there anyway to provent this, or do I just need to copy and paste them else where, then drag them back in.... would that work? I'm talking about the plugins I installed other than the normal plugins you get with PT ofcourse.

yes you should be able to copy the folder that has the plug-ins and the settings folder as well
it's a very safe thing to do when upgrading

That's odd - they shouldn't go away. All 3rd party plug-ins should be left alone when updating?

Can you give us more info on what you're experiencing?

Hello.

It's just in the past I have updated PT, all my installed plugins go away in the RTAS folder.

I saved the plugins folder to a different drive. I will update now and let you know if they dissapear.

Yeah that shouldn't happen @ all; only ones that may disappear would be outdated plugs (ex. Digi II plugs)

When I did the updates including a complete uninstall, my third party plugins remained. Are you manually deleting the protools directories? Or reformatting the hard drive? (recommended for Lion update). Nevertheless is is always a good idea to have a good backup of everything (even two backups)
