Default ANSWERED: What is the Eleven Rack's Latency?

How much latency is in the 11R when used in standalone mode (no computer)? How many milliseconds are we talking here?

When you say latency; are you referring to the latency of the sound (the amount of time between pick attack and sound coming out of the outputs), or the latency between patch switches?

Because I'd be interested in both. :)

Interesting question!

Because it´s digital, the ER must have a latency. But in camparison to a Line6 Pod the feel of response is much better!

Before I had the ER, I thought playing with Amplitube and my RME Fireface (Setting was 64 Samples Buffersize) was great. But since I play the ER, i realized that my feel and my timing is far better when I use the ER.

Bottom line is the 11R FEELS like an amp. I don't think there is any latency at all playing it... not perceivable anyway. They actually miniaturized all those amps and actually put them under the hood there!

Switching patches? Well, to be honest it might be just a bit of latency in that area but I use it live and for recording and am very happy on the stage and in my studio. Recording is another huge bonus though, especially if you use Pro Tools. Not only can you “re-amp” and play with different sounds @ mix down, can also retrieve embedded rigs right from the mix to use again later. This has saved my fanny more than once.

The first. Pick attack to sound out the main outputs.

I haven't actually tested it but I can't tell at all. I know exactly what you are talking about and have noticed it with Line 6 products in the past. I would be interested to know. Sometimes this is stated in the back of the manual.

It's almost exactly 3 milliseconds.
