Default how similar is LE and M-Powered software?

are they almost identical? are the shortcuts the same? layout etc.

the reason I ask is some friends I make music with have Pro Tools Le, if I bought and learnt M Powered would it then be very easy for me go and use Pro Tools Le at their studios.

Also, not knowing that M Powered would be an option, I bought a book on Pro Tools called "Pro Tools All-in-One Desk Reference for Dummies" LINK
would teh information in that book still be very relevant for M Powered?

thanks

As far as i know PTMP is identical to PTLE, except they removed some features you probably wont use anyway:

No DVtoolkit possible
No Digitranslator possible
No support for the Control|24 control-surface
No "complementary package" of plugins and limited vrsions of some programs.

I would advice you to go ahead and try atleast the demo.

Digi? Do you think that you will ever support DVToolkit for the MPPT? Since all the other plugins and stuff works on MPPT, will DVToolkit or some other tool for TC display come out for MPPT?

The DV toolkit is a great bundle for guys who want to work to picture eg Sound Design or Edit Dialogue.

The DV toolkit consists of:

Digi Translator-- Used to import OMF files for a AVID or Final Cut session. Meaning all your
regions are seperate and on time from the Video editor. Even fades stay in sync.
Time Code Ruler-- Grid comes up as SMPTE frames etc.
Dinr-- Broad band reduction
Vocal align-- Used to sync ADR etc to orginal production dialogue. Great also for singer backing
vocals and chorus.
