Is a Mac Mini i5 Processor sufficient for Pro Tools
Is this processor speed in a new Mac Mini sufficient for Pro Tools use?

Yes if you are doing stuff that requires less than an i5
No if you are doing stuff that requires more than an i5 We have no idea what you plan to be doing with the computer. Especially for Mac, many people here (who tend to be high end users) will try to max out that CPU more. What exact model/spec Mac mini are you looking at... current i5 are also more powerful than some older i5 and you cannot assume old advice that you “should not use an i5” is still correct. |

Oh and the CPU and SSD in the current Mac mini are not upgradeable. Memory is... which would make me want to max out he CPU and SSD more than otherwise to get a good life of of these, the cost of which can add up (but the CPU is often not the most costly part).
