Default Pro Tools HD 7.1cs5 Updates

Pro Tools HD 7.1cs5 Updates for Mac OS X and Windows XP
For systems with Pro Tools HD 7.0 or 7.1

Available for download from the Pro Tools CS Updates page:
www.digidesign.com/download/cs/

What's Fixed in Pro Tools HD 7.1cs5?

In addition to all previous fixes, Pro Tools HD 7.1cs5 for Mac OS X and Windows XP both contain the following:

Fixed: Moving the Tempo Slider to Change Tempo Does Not Update the Play/Edit Selection (Item #70901)
- Fixes a problem where if an on-screen play selection is created, and tempo is adjusted during playback, the selection area would stay the same length in samples (instead of musical time) and would not update to match the tempo.

Fixed: When using the Expansion|HD chassis, Launching Pro Tools Could Result in an -1150 Error (Item #73160)

Fixed: File Corruption Problems with MXF Audio Media (Item #72525)
- After an initially successful AAF/MXF import, reopening the session or previewing MXF audio files from Digibase could result in file corruption.

Additional Details:
Affected users include anyone running one of the following Pro Tools versions who opens an AAF with MXF audio media that originated from any of the following Avid editor applications:

Affected Pro Tools versions:
- Pro Tools TDM or LE v6.9.x
- Pro Tools HD, LE or M-Powered v7.0 thru 7.0cs4
- Pro Tools HD v7.1 thru 7.1cs4

Affected Avid editor applications:
- Avid NewsCutter v6.2.x (XP)
- Media Station|PT v1.8.2
- Media Composer Adrenaline v2.2.x (XP)
- Media Composer Adrenaline v1.8.x (OS X)
- Symphony Nitris v1.0.x (XP)
- Xpress Pro v5.2.x (XP)
- Xpress Pro v4.8.x (OS X)

Corruption arose only after Pro Tools first successfully imported and played back the AAF with MXF audio media. After closing the session and attempting to access the MXF media a second time (either by reopening the session, reimporting the AAF, or previewing the audio files in Digibase), the audio within the MXF media files would become corrupted (and replaced by either silence or distortion).

Note that once permanently corrupted by Pro Tools, the media files were still visible in their corrupt form within Avid editor applications. However, use of these files (as well as rescanning of projects containing these files) would lead to erratic behavior including crashes of various Avid applications.

Pro Tools HD 7.1cs5 for Mac OS X also contains the following:

Fixed: Some Third-Party Applications Could No Longer Copy Audio into the Pro Tools Region List (Item #73194)
- This affected mTools, NetMix, some versions of Soundminer, and customers who used Apple Events to import audio into Pro Tools.
- The fix requires removing the capability of auditioning audio files by dropping them on the Pro Tools application icon.

Fixed: When using the Expansion|HD chassis, Launching Pro Tools Could Result in an -1150 Error (Item #73160)

Fixed: Bouncing to a QuickTime Movie Would Sometimes Leave Out the Video (Item #65203)

Fixed: Crash Occurs When a Plug-In Exceeds the CPU Limit for Extended Periods of Time (Item #72085)
- This occurred when 2 or more processors were RTAS-enabled.
