Default PT LE 8 & Older Sessions (6.4)

I have migrated and updated my ProTools LE system from Windows to Mac, and from version 6.4 to version 8.03.

I hope to continue working on existing projects (created with 6.4). Having copied the files over to my new work drive, Is it recommended to simply open the old file in v8.03, or should I do an "Import > Session Data"?

Thanks,
Geoff

try opening the sessions normally (when you are alone) and see what happens, if it crashes, try the import session data trick. When I updated to version 8, I had to use import session or all my sessions crashed...on pc.

Thanks. I have tried opening the old files with varying levels of success... some had problems finding the audio files.. I haven't yet tried the import data.

Cheers
Geoff

If a session does not open, try holding the SHIFT key while you try again. This will disable all the plugins(maybe you have some that need updating). Once you get a session open and audio files showing up, save it in the newer format(pts vs ptf).
