Default recorded tracks not syncing/alliigning with drum loops

first I put down a drum loop.
then i record bass track.

The bass track does not allign exactly with the drum loop. Even though they are out of synch by a fraction it isn;t to nice to listen to.

I know I can grab the track, zoom in and allign it manually but surely it's not too much to ask to have them synched automatically.

anyone any suggestions?

Hello,

The same thing happens with my system.

I think it is something that relied on what equipment you own, but ultimately is a part of audio recording and mixing.

I have a Fast Track C400, running on a Dell Inspiron 1545.
The interface has slight latency, and the laptop isn't the best, but works.
Therefore I have to sync back slightly with all audio tracks. Just a hindrence of a basic home recording studio... but I kind of like it... it feels more like a project and improves my skills at listening to the music mix.

Anyway... unless you spend £XXXXX then you won't avoid it at this level!

Under Setup>Playback Engine check to see what your Hardware Buffer is set at; when recording this should be set as low as possible without getting errors.
