Default Pro Tools, Rex Files and Groove Grid Question

I guess I best try this here as well:

I imported a Rex File into Pro Tools and ungrouped it so that all the slices are separate Regions.

How do I now get a groove map from those slices?
I can use Beat detective but then it just looks at all transients again and not at the already sliced audio.
Is there no simple function like "get groove from regions"?

Also can you switch PTs main grid in the Edit window to a groove so when I move audio slices around that they snap to my groove?

I'm on PT 9.0.1 by the way
