Default ASUS - P5N E SLI - Pci Slot

hi friends i just buy my new quad core system with asus p5n E SLI motherboard but
my problem is dat windows xp dont recognize my pci firewire card Agere
what i have to do ?

my old pentium 4 dont have this types of problem and windows recognize
da pci firewire and works good with pro tools Le

inca,

the agere firewire chipset is not supported by Digi. If you do get XP to recoginze it, you may still have problems with PTLE. I would go the the device manager and try to update the firewire chipset and hope that XP will then recognize it.

Also, your computer motherboard Asus P5n-E has the nVidia 750i chipset, which is also a problem with Digi. If you are able to get this system working with PTLE, it may well me a miracle...

the on-board AGERE F/W does work on the ASUS P5K Deluxe mobo. now the chipset might be another issue

Yes i have before my old Pentium 4 and have the agere firewire
with Pro tools 7 and windows recognize it

now i change to my new computer
and windows dont recognize it ..

i have Asus P5N E SLI

So, the onboard firewire port on the P5N-E works fine with PTLE? Is that correct? If so, then that is interesting, because we have no other reports of PTLE working with the chipset in your mobo. How does the P5N-E work in comparison to your older Pentium 4 system?

About the firewire, if you have a 002r and you wnat to use a firewire harddrive, then you may be able to plug it into the firewire port on the rear of the 002.

i have asus motherboard P5N E SLI and work fine with pro tools 7 LE
with onboard firewire port
so i decided tested the onboard firewire ..

i tested it like 40m recording live in my studio
with lots of plugins , like more than 15 tracks with 3 plugins in each track
quad core q6600 is amazing je

my old pentium 4 is like a kid comparing with my new quad core ,is a monster

sometimes i have errors like all people..

yes now mi firewire works now
i delete da nvidia drivers and restart windows
now my firewire card appear in windows



but da only problem dat i have is
i cant use pro tool le with the firewire card
windows crashes when is loading pro tools

the strange is
dat i can work with onboard firewire port of the Asus mainboard

very crazy eh ???
